Wet Hot American Summer (2001)

In honor of Netflix reviving this and making it into the tv series, I thought I might watch the movie first, in order to watch the series later. Some time in the future. Eventually. Maybe :/ Weird though, cuz this movie is about the last day of camp and the tv series are focusing on the first day of summer, so... The tv series is prequel, that means I might've had watched the tv series first. Youch.

Plot: It is really simple - the last day of summer camp. It focuses on several  groups of campers and the chaotic events on the last day. It's really nothing special.

Thoughts: This is gonna be quick review, as nothing significant is happening. This felt more as a parody movie , that mocks all kind of movies. They laughed at camper movies, at teenager movies, at the-last-day-of-school movies, romantic movies, nerds, weirdos... aaah all kinds of things. The events supposedly had to happen in the length of one day, but it was over the top exaggerated.

Actors: Woa, what a bunch of A-list actors here. I was surprised to see them all in this. Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks and others. I mean these guys are doing some serious movies these days.

IMDB loved tv series a bit more. Movie is 6,7 and the tv series - 8. Production value maybe? Cult classic? Nostalgic? No idea yet. I can see why it became cult classic, cuz it's enjoyable, silly, simple movie, with great cast and it is full with quotable silly phrases. Witty come-back's collectors, prepare your notes while watching.
So this is kind of short, to-pass-time movie, for a hot summer night like these. Go ahead, numb your mind with a little movie like that. Enjoy!
